Reus return won’t be rushed by Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus will be eased back into action after completing his first training session since May.

The German international has been ravaged by injuries over the last six months, with a torn adductor muscle ruling him out of the summer’s Euro 2016 and keeping him on the sidelines throughout the opening stages of this season

But Reus returned to full training with Dortmund this week, although it is still too soon for the 27-year-old to be involved in any competitive action.

Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel has pledged to keep Reus wrapped in cotton wool until he is fully ready to take the next step on the comeback trail.

“Marco did the first training session with the team after his injury,” Tuchel said.

“Coincidentally it was the public training session.

“It was his first training with the team since May so I don’t say an exact date when he will be back because we don’t want him to feel any pressure.

“Marco gets all the time that he needs. He trained as if he never left and I think it should go on like that.”
