Zambrotta: Delhi Dynamos want Ibrahimovic

Delhi Dynamos boss Gianluca Zambrotta has confirmed that he wants to sign former team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic next summer.

Ibrahimovic has made an instant impact at Manchester United after netting four goals in seven Premier League games, but he only penned a 12-month contract at Old Trafford last July.

Zambrotta knows Ibrahimovic well after playing alongside the 35-year-old at both Juventus and AC Milan.

And he wants to persuade the Swedish international to move to the Indian Super League when his Man United deal expires, and join Delhi on a free transfer.

“Given his fan following in India, I think Zlatan would want to come and end his career here,” Zambrotta told the Indian Express.

“On my end, I will definitely try to convince him to play for Delhi Dynamos.

“India will soon be a big destination for international football.

“Given the level of competitiveness in the Indian Super League and the quality of Indian players, I am sure it will be amongst the top five football leagues of the world in the next decade.”
