Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has signed a new deal that will tie him to the La Liga giants until 2022.
The 26-year-old German World Cup winner joined Real Madrid from Bayern Munich in 2014, having spent six years in the current German champions’ first team as well as one season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen.
Kroos, who won the 2016 Champions League with Los Blancos, had his contract extension confirmed on the club’s website on Wednesday afternoon.
“Real Madrid C. F. and Toni Kroos have come to an agreement on a contract extension which will see the player linked to the club until 30 June 2022,” read a club statement.
“Toni Kroos will speak to the media tomorrow in the press room of the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.”
