Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic says it’s comes as no surprise that Bosnia teammate Edin Dzeko has made such a strong start to this season.
The striker made the switch the switch from Manchester City at the start of last season, initially on loan, but only managed eight goals in 31 Serie A games.
However, he has begun the new campaign on fire and has already contributed five goals in five starts and Pjanic says it is nothing less than he expected from his international teammate.
“I am not remotely surprised by how well he has started this term and I am very happy for him,” the Juve man told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“He is coming off a campaign in which, perhaps, his characteristics were not made the most of. It is also true that this season Edin seems to believe in himself more, he visibly has more confidence now.
“I’ve known this Dzeko for a long time, he is a great striker who can also create chances all by himself. You’ll see how many goals he’ll score for Roma this year.
“After all, he always did score plenty of goals, so it’s not as if he could just forget how to find the net.”
