Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has laughed off criticism of Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos, claiming the 30-year-old's skills make him a complete defender.
Ramos came in for a chorus of negativity after conceding a penalty in Spain's 1-1 draw with Italy on Thursday.
It is already the fourth spot kick he has given away this season alone and many feel he his becoming more of a liability than an asset, but Ancelotti could not disagree more.
"Ramos? He only provides experience, quality, character and trophies… does that seem enough to you?" the Los Blancos head coach told Marca.
"You can't argue about Sergio Ramos. He's a very complete defender.
"Sergio Ramos has everything: Cannavaro was fantastic in the air, Baresi commanded the defence and others for the character they gave the team.
"Sergio Ramos is the most complete, who ties together the best features."
Ramos and Real will look to end a run of four straight draws when they return to action after the international break with a potentially challenging away trip to Real Betis in La Liga on Saturday.
