Tottenham Hotspur defender Kevin Wimmer reveals he is considering his future at the club after failing to secure a regular place in the first team.
The Austria international suggested he could look to leave the club as early as the January transfer window if he continues to be overlooked by manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Despite impressing when he was brought into the side last season, he has only made one appearance so far in this campaign in the EFL Cup.
Wimmer signed a lengthy new five-year contract in the off-season and is determined to fight for his place in the team but hinted he would seek a move if his situation does not improve.
"After last season, where I played towards the end quite frequently, I'm already down on other expectations for this season," he said.
"(A minor muscle injury) has taken me back a bit. It is difficult at the moment but I am patiently waiting for my chance. I try to always stay positive.
"The feedback from the club is always that they are very happy; that they see the future with me. This is very positive, but it is about the here and now.
"We will see what happens in the next few weeks; how much I start. We have a few midweek matches."
