Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho has heaped praise on team-mate Kevin De Bruyne, saying he enjoys playing alongside the Belgian due to his quick decision-making.
De Bruyne has started the 2016/17 campaign in fine form, netting two goals and providing three assists his first five Premier League appearances as the Citizens recorded five straight victories.
Fernandinho believes the midfielder has been crucial to City's impressive start to the season, and is hoping for more of the same from his team-mate.
"He's a very good player, a very intelligent player," Fernandinho told the Manchester Evening News. "When he has the ball he thinks so quickly and he makes the decision so fast that it's hard for the opponent to react.
"For me it's special because playing alongside him is very nice. He has decided most of our last few games by making assists or scoring goals.
"I hope he can keep this level to help us to reach our targets."
The Citizens' unbeaten start to the campaign has left many tipping them to claim the Premier League title, but Fernandinho feels it is too early to start thinking about what could transpire at the end of the season.
He added: "We work to win trophies, but it's too early to say if we are going to be champions or not. Our target is just to win the next game.
"We can't start to think what will happen in April and May, we just need to think about what will happen in the next match."
Next up for City is a clash with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
It will be the second meeting between these to sides in the space of three days, following the Citizens' 2-1 victory over the Swans in the EFL Cup third round on Wednesday.
