Clyne: Liverpool can win the league

Liverpool defender Nathaniel Clyne says there is no reason why the Reds cannot win the league title this season.

The Merseyside club have picked up 10 points from their opening five Premier League games, including victories against Arsenal and Chelsea away from home.

The 25-year-old Clyne, who has accumulated 13 caps for England playing at right-back, feels Liverpool have assembled a good enough squad to challenge for the title.

The last time the Reds won England's domestic league trophy was in 1990.

When asked if Liverpool can win the league, Clyne told Super Saturday: "I don't see why not. We've got the squad of players to fight for the title.

"If we keep playing how we are then hopefully we can be in amongst it at the end of the season."
