El Jaish coach Sabri Lamouchi heaped praise on his players after the defeated Al Nasr to reach the semi-finals of the AFC Champions League for the first time.
The Qatari Stars entered the second leg as overwhelming favourites after the AFC disciplinary committee awarded them a 3-0 win as Al Nasr had fielded an ineligible player.
In Dubai on Wednesday night, Brazilian star Romarinho would prove the difference between the two teams.
“I’m happy with the victory and that we have reached the semi-finals for the first time,” said the coach.
“I want to thank the players for the great effort they have shown tonight. We have reached the last four, and that was our target for the competition.
“After we lost the first leg, we wanted to come here and win and that is what have done.
“We defeated Al Nasr tonight, although we were lucky in the second half as Al Nasr attacked us. But they failed to score and that gave us the win.”
