Sevilla boss Jorge Sampaoli was thrilled with Sergio Rico's contribution in the 0-0 Champions League Group H draw with Juventus on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper was kept busy by the attack-minded Italians but refused to be beaten and made a number of crucial saves throughout the match to keep his side on level pegging.
After the match, Sampaoli said: "It was a huge effort and we ran some risks at the end. We had to defend in the air too and proved we were prepared for any attack.
"Sergio Rico was comfortable with his feet too and made a fine save at the end. He really did well tonight."
He added: "There was no difference between the teams; we were on the same level."
Lyon and Dinamo Zagreb make up the group, and Sampaoli knows his side will need to improve if they are to compete for a place in the Round of 16.
"We need to grow and improve a great deal," he added. "There will be different requirements in different games, but we also need to create more.
"Starting in Turin with a point is good for us. We'll have a lot of games coming up and it's a morale-booster.
"Many players showed no fear when pressing high up, [but] we need to improve in possession and start moves better."
