At a packed Polish Army Stadium in Warsaw, Legia were always going to be underdogs against the German heavyweights.
Thomas Tuchel’s side took control of proceedings early on at the Pepsi Arena when Gotze gave them seventh-minute lead. Dembele’s fine cross found the former Bayern Munich midfielder in space in the box and he headed home past a helpless Arkadiusz Malarz.
It wasn’t long before it was 2-0. Dembele was causing havoc and it was a foul he earned on the left-wing that led to the second goal. Guerreiro’s accurate free-kick found Papastathopoulos and he headed past Malarz.
Dortmund were completely dominant and made it 3-0 inside 20 minutes when Bartra slotted home from another dead-ball situation.

Legia threatened rarely although defender Tomasz Jodlowiec did have an effort saved by Roman Burki in the 32nd minute.
Nonetheless, the Bundesliga giants were in full control and this continued after the break. Dembele had a shot saved in the 51st minute but Guerreiro fed off the scraps to make it 4-0.
It was virtually one-way traffic as Dortmund had plenty more chances to score, though they had to wait until the 76th minute when Castro made it 5-0.
The rout was completed when Aubameyang made it 6-0 three minutes from time with a smart finish following a Castro through ball.
