Former Ajax star Ryan Babel has been spotted at De Toekomst, but the free agent has not yet been linked with a return to the Dutch club.
The 29-year-old winger came through the youth system at the Amsterdam ArenA, and big things were expected of him when he moved to Premier League giants Liverpool back in 2007.
But Babel's time at Anfield was disappointing, and in 2011 he moved to the Bundesliga with Hoffenheim, where he spent the next two seasons.
Then in 2013, the Dutchman personally bought out his contract with the German team to return to Ajax, registering four goals from 16 appearances in the 2012/13 Eredivisie campaign.
He then moved on to Turkish outfit Kasimpasa, making a total of 58 appearances in the Super Lig and scoring 14 times during the last two seasons.
Babel started the current campaign with Abu Dhabi-based side Al-Ain, but relations soured between the two parties and he has not played for them since December 2015.
While the 43-capped Netherlands international is reportedly just training with Ajax, and not expected to sign for a third stint, it is still possible for him to return to his boyhood club.
