Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors boss Choi Kang-hee heaped praise on his charges following their 5-0 drubbing of Shanghai SIPG on Tuesday.
The hosts thrilled a large home crowd, with Lee Dong-gook and Leonardo both grabbing braces, securing them a place in the AFC Champions League semi-finals.
“That was a perfect home game,” said Choi after the match.
“We drew 0-0 away but the players were on top from the start. We were confident that we could win at home, we had prepared well and everything went well.”
“It was great to play like that in front of a big crowd and give them a good show. We are confident and going well in the K League Classic and the AFC Champions League and looking forward to each game we play and we will try and maintain this form.
“We kept our composure, the players knew their roles very well and the movement in attack was excellent. We also kept a clean sheet which was pleasing to see. Because of our preparation and hard work, in the end, it was a comfortable win.”
Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors will face either fellow Korean Republic club FC Seoul or China’s Shandong Luneng in the final four.
