Ba to join Shanghai Shenhua

Shanghai firmly believe that Ba, who underwent a medical on Sunday, will "greatly improve" their side.

The 30-year-old left Chelsea last summer and scored 27 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions for Besiktas.

There had been mounting speculation of Ba making a comeback to the Premier League, with West Bromwich Albion allegedly interested in signing him, but the striker decided to head to China instead.

In addition to Ba, Shanghai, who have not won the Chinese Super League since 1995, signed former Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko from Levante on Friday.
