Lahm praises Bayern’s adaptability

Bayern München captain Philipp Lahm has been impressed with the squads ability to cope with a series of injuries to key players this season.

Pep Guardiola's side have dropped just two league points this season having won 13 of their 14 Bundesliga games so far. This is in spite of key attacking players such as Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben having sat out most of the campaign with injury.

Guardiola was forced into more changes this past weekend after the impressive Douglas Costa picked up a thigh injury on Champions League duty, but Bayern were still able to comfortably beat Hertha Berlin 2-0 thanks to goals from Kingsley Coman and Thomas Muller.

"We had a few problems before the match because many players were injured – particularly those who can open up space against a defensive team," Lahm said after the match.

"That's why it wasn't easy today. But we came up with a very good solution. We stifled the counter-attacks well.

"In situations like this we have to create chances by passing the ball. That went quite well."

The imperious Bavarians have already opened an eight-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga table with rivals BVB Dortmund doing all they can to try and keep pace.
