Borussia Dortmund fans have confirmed that they will not be travelling to support the team, when they face newly-promoted RB Leipzig.
The presence of Dortmund's infamous "Yellow Wall" – a fan amalgamation of supporter groups – will be missing for Saturday night's encounter at the Red Bull Arena.
The boycott is said to be a protest against sports drinks company Red Bull, who have funded the home team and helped them elevate from the fifth tier of German football to the Bundesliga since being founded in 2009.
"With a heavy heart, the construct of the promoted side from Leipzig stands against everything that we associate with football," a statement on the club's official website read.
"It is scandalous that a purely commercially driven marketing branch of an Austrian drink manufacturer is allowed to compete in Germany's top flight."
"They contradict all sporting and emotional values," the BVB supporter group said.
