Arsenal forward Alex Sanchez has come and said that he is at the same level as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
The Chile international, who played alongside Messi at Barcelona before moving to Arsenal in 2012, has scored 30 goals in 68 Premier League appearances for the Gunners.
Messi, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, and Real Madrid’s Ronaldo, who captained Portugal to Euro 2016 glory this year, are talked about in the same breath as some of the legends of the game, including Maradona and Pele.
But Sanchez, who has won back to back Copa America titles with his country, believes he has the same abilities as both players in La Liga.
Sanchez told Sport: “I have reached a level where I can compete with great players.
“I do not feel inferior to anybody. I liken [my qualities] to Messi and Ronaldo. I have the same abilities as them.”
