Borussia MG defender Alvaro Dominguez has had another injury setback and looks likely to be ruled out of action for seven months.
Dominguez missed 25 games for Gladbach last season after he suffered a slipped disc against FC Bayern München and was subsequently went under the knife.
The 27-year-old former Aston Villa player however had been back in training since June and had been hopeful of making an impact in the Bundesliga this season.
But according to the ReadBundesliga website, Dominguez's comeback has been dealt a harsh blow with the news that he will have to undergo an additional back operation which will see him missing a large chuck of the new season.
The two-time UEFA Cup winner is in the final year of his contract with Borussia MG.
