Papadopoulos makes RB Leipzig loan switch

Newly-promoted Bundesliga side Red Bull Leipzig have secured the signing of Kyriakos Papadopoulos from Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Papadopoulos joins the ambitious German side on a season-long loan deal and will bring a wealth of experience to their defence – despite being only 24-years-old.

The Greece international only recently signed permanent deal with Roger Schmidt's side after a year loan spell, but is now set for another temporary move, which RB Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick is extremely pleased to have secured.

"He's a good winner of the ball, brings a good level of aggression and is also a good communicator," he told the club's website.

"Both Bayer Leverkusen and Kyriakos met our terms financially so that we could make the loan happen."

Papadopoulos has featured 91 times in the Bundesliga for Leverkusen and FC Schalke 04 since making the switch to Germany's top flight from Olympiacos in 2010.
