The agent of Italy international and Zenit St Petersburg defender Domenico Criscito has dismissed reports claiming his client has signed for Serie A side Napoli.
Andrea D'Amico confirmed the interest of last season's Scudetto runners-up, but revealed he had received no concrete offers for the versatile defender, who would be keen on moving back to his native country after losing his place in Italy's starting line-up.
"For the moment it's just a working hypothesis," D'Amico told Radio CRC. "In the market, what counts for something are concrete facts, and for now I have nothing new.
"Mimmo was close to Napoli even when he left Genoa, but the Russians were quicker and more concrete.
"For now there have been some small contacts with the Azzurri directors, but no more than that. Clearly Mimmo is an important player, not least for the national team under [Giampiero] Ventura's new direction.
"So far he's been greatly penalised, he must gather things which in the past he did not. He is versatile, as Napoli know very well even though we haven't discussed it in person. He can play on the wing and in the centre.
Since joining Zenit in 2011, Criscito has played 156 times for the club, scoring nine goals and registering 19 assists.
