Liverpool have reportedly rejected an improved offer of £30m from Crystal Palace for out-of-favour striker Christian Benteke.
The 25-year-old appears to be heading for the Anfield exit after being left out of Jurgen Klopp's matchday squad for their opening-day victory over Arsenal at the Emirates.
And, after seeing an opening bid of £25m rejected by the Merseysiders, the Eagles have come back to the negotiation table with an improved offer, worth £23m up front plus £7m in add-ons.
However, it has been suggested the Reds are holding out for a fee closer to the £32.5m they paid Aston Villa to secure his services in 2015.
Palace are likely to make a third bid for Benteke as they look to bolster their attacking options following the sale of winger Yannick Bolasie to Everton for £25m on Monday.
Since joining Liverpool, Benteke has made 42 appearances in all competitions, bagging 10 goals in the process.
