FC Bayern München fullback David Alaba has revealed that Carlo Ancelotti is aware of his versatility but believes his best position is at left-back.
During his time at the German champions, the 24-year-old has played central defender, full-back, left and right wing as well as in central-midfield.
However, the versatile star believes it is at left-back where he has enjoyed his best form, although he pointed out that Ancelotti is aware of how multi-functional he can be.
The experienced Italian coach, who was appointed to lead Bayern in December last year, is hard at work preparing his squad for the Super Cup clash with Borussia Dortmund on Sunday.
Alaba told Germany’s Sport Bild: “First and foremost, I want to make as many matches as possible. If I can help the team the best at left-back, I’ll play there. Carlo Ancelotti knows where I feel most comfortable.”
He added: “The coach also explained to me that he knows that I can play in several positions. But he has seen the games in the past and know that I make a good duo with Franck Ribéry on the left.”
