Breel Embolo says his record €22.5 million move to Schalke from FC Basel will not affect his performances this season.
The Switzerland international insists he will be focused on being successful in the Bundesliga, and is not looking to emulate the form of Leroy Sane, whose incredible displays for The Royal Blues last term persuaded Manchester City to sign the Germany international.
Speaking to Swiss magazine Sports Image, Embolo said: "I'm not thinking about the transfer fee. I'm focused on results on the pitch; I want to be successful and make people happy.
"Schalke are a big club, who must always look forward = including, at best, to the Champions League places."
The 19-year-old forward has subsequently rubbished any comparisons between him and Sane.
"What Leroy showed here was top, but Sane will always remain Sane and Embolo will always remain Embolo," the teenager added.
