Slight improvements for several SEA nations in FIFA rankings

The likes of Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Myanmar all showed a slight improvement on the latest FIFA world rankings, which were released on Thursday.

All of the above-mentioned teams moved up one position on the latest rankings – Thailand up to 120th, Philippines up to 134th, Vietnam to 138th, Hong Kong to 147th and Myanmar to 159th.

Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia and Indonesia, meanwhile, stayed unchanged at 167th, 177th, 180th and 191st respectively.

Singapore showed a slight drop in ranking, moving down one place to 159th, while Timor-Leste also dropped down one position to 186th.

Iran remained the top-ranked Asian nation in 39th position, closely followed by Korea Republic and Japan, who moved up eight places.

They are followed by Australia, Saudia Arabia, the UAE, China DPR, Jordan and Qatar.

The top 10 on the overall rankings have remained unchanged, with Argentina still ranked as the world’s best team.

The South Americans are followed by Belgium, Colombia, Germany, Chile, Portugal, France, Spain, Brazil and Italy.
