Veteran defender Ricardo Carvalho has left Monaco after his contract was not renewed by the Ligue 1 club ahead of the new season.
The Portugal international, who helped his country to Euro 2016 glory last month, brings to an end a three-year association with Les Rouges et Blancs.
Carvalho joined the Principality outfit in 2013 after three years with Real Madrid, and made 117 appearances in all competitions for Leonardo Jardim's side.
Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev paid tribute to the 38-year-old centre-back for passing on his invaluable experience during his time at Stade Louis II.
"When he arrived, I remember people doubting his ability to bounce back," Vasilyev told the club's official website.
"Ricardo repaid AS Monaco's faith in him by demonstrating once more what a great professional he is, and by contributing to the team's results on the field.
"It's an honour to have had this great champion with us. Ricardo will always be welcome in Monaco."
