Roma are set to put the finishing touches on a deal to sign Wojciech Szczesny from Arsenal for a reported €13.4 million.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper arrived in the Italian capital for his medical on Thursday. After spending last season on loan with the Giallorossi, he has proven himself worthy of a permanent move to the Serie A club.
It remains uncertain on whether the Poland international will be a regular starter as the Eternal City outfit have also signed Alisson from Internacional, so the pair will be expected to compete for the number-one jersey.
"Forza Roma," Szczesny reportedly told the press on landing at the airport. "I'm fine, and I'm happy to be back."
Szczesny made 42 appearances in all competitions for Luciano Spalletti's side last season, keeping nine clean sheets in the process.
