Las Palmas thrilled with Boateng capture

Ghana international forward Kevin-Prince Boateng is being hailed by Las Palmas as "the most important foreign player who has joined the club in recent decades".

The 29-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Schalke attacking midfielder, who has been club-less for the last six months after his contract at Milan ended, was on Tuesday paraded in front of the Las Palmas fans at the club's stadium – Estadio de Gran Canaria.

Boateng has signed a one-year contract with the option of another year with the club which finished in 11th position on the La Liga table last season.

Canary Islands-based Las Palmas announced the move on their website, stating that the Ghana star is the "the most important foreign player who has joined the club in recent decades."

Last season was the first time in 14 years that Las Palmas had competed in Spain’s top flight.
