Chelsea full-back Baba Rahman is poised to leave the London outfit on loan after being informed by manager Antonio Conte that his defensive abilities are lacking.
The Ghana international joined the Blues on a five-year deal from FC Augsburg in the off-season of 2015, but failed to break into the first-team picture under Jose Mourinho.
However, even after Guus Hiddink took up the reins at Stamford Bridge following Mourinho's departure in December, Rahman was used sparingly and eventually finished the season with 23 appearances in all competitions.
And it seems the 22-year-old is not in Conte's plans for the season ahead, leading the player to hint at a return to the Bundesliga.
"Chelsea manager Antonio Conte told me that he wants his team to be very defensive, but I am a rather offensive full back," he told German newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten.
"So I would have had very little playing time. Conte advised me to leave on loan. We will see what happens after this season."
When asked for his assessment of his first season in English football, Rahman added: "A lot of players in England are very powerful, whereas in Germany you see some better football.
"A lot of Premier League teams are still very much playing kick and rush football."
