Bordeaux are closing in on the signing of mercurial French forward Jeremy Menez from Italian giants AC Milan.
The 29-year-old former Sochaux, Monaco, Roma and Paris Saint-Germain player ended the 2014/15 season as the Rossoneri's top scorer, with 16 goals in all competitions from 34 appearances.
Menez missed the majority of his second year with Milan, however, with an infection following complications from surgery following back problems, but has since returned to full fitness and is eager to make up for lost time.
Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud confirmed the news through Agence France-Presson, saying: "The deal is at an advanced stage. But we cannot announce anything until all the documents are signed."
Menez became the youngest professional footballer in Ligue 1 history when he made his senior debut for Sochaux during the 2004/05 campaign.
