FC Schalke 04 have confirmed that a “fundamental agreement” has been reached with La Liga side Sevilla for the transfer of their captain Coke.
The former Rayo Vallecano defender passed his medical with the Royal Blues on Sunday with the move expected to be formalised on Monday, where he will join up with his new team-mates at a pre-season training camp in Austria
An official statement on the Bundesliga club’s website read: “Schalke 04 have confirmed a fundamental agreement with Sevilla regarding the transfer of right-back Coke.
“The skipper of last season’s Europa League winners passed his medical on Sunday.”
Coke joins a long list of players to have left Los Rojiblancos, including Ever Banega, Jose Antonio Reyes, Ciro Immobile, Kevin Gameiro and Grzegorz Krychowiak.
