FC Schalke 04 are reportedly close to completing the signing of Sevilla captain Coke in a €5 million deal.
The Spanish press claim an agreement has already been reached between the two clubs with the 29-year-old right-back expected in Gelsenkirchen next week for a medical.
Coke took up the club's captaincy from Ivan Rakitic after a deal to Marseille failed to materialise, but his exit is now expected following protracted talks.
Los Rojiblancos, meanwhile, have reportedly targeted River Plate defender Gabriel Mercado as his replacement.
Coke joined the Andalusians from Rayo Vallecano in 2011 while Mercado, who is a former Estudiantes LP player, is expected to play his final game for the Argentine giants on Sunday.
