Neuer: Guardiola will stay

There were rumours that Guardiola, who joined Bayern on a three-year deal in 2013, would be replacing Manuel Pellegrini as Manchester City's manager this summer, but the 44-year-old was quick to deny these suggestions, and Neuer believes that Guardiola will be with the club beyond his current contract.

"If Pep's provisions are noted then he will extend his contract, I think," he told Kicker.

Meanwhile, Neuer also lavished praise on Bayern's new signing, Douglas Costa, who joined the Bundesliga club from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk for €30 million.

"He's a real rocket," Neuer said. "He can spring down the flanks very fast and play with both feet. He can dribble in off the flank and go left and right as well. He'll be a real weapon."
