Toure backing ‘great’ signings

Sterling joined the Citizens from Liverpool in a massive £49 million move while fellow England international Delph followed a week later in a deal worth £8 million from Aston Villa.

Toure believes the duo will prove invaluable players for Manuel Pellegrini and has urged the squad to respond this campaign after relinquishing the Premier League title to Chelsea.

"We've signed some great players this year in Sterling and Delph – we welcome them and we hope they will give us a massive boost," the 32-year-old Ivorian is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

"We need to bounce back this year and to support our fans – they have supported us for long years and we want to make them proud."
