Aston Villa have received an offer from Hamburger SV for striker Jordan Ayew, according to a report.
The Daily Mail has revealed that the Bundesliga outfit made an £8million bid for the Ghana international and if accepted it “would allow Villa to recoup what they paid Lorient for Ayew”.
Ayew joined the Premier League club on a five-year deal in July 2015 and he scored seven goals in 30 league outings as Villa were relegated to the Championship.
However, he has already been subject to interest from West Ham, Bordeaux and Galatasaray, but Villa owner Tony Xia confidently stated over the weekend that “Ayew will stay”.
However, it remains to be seen if he will be part of Roberto di Matteo’s squad once the season gets underway.
