Claudio Ranieri has joked that new signing Ahmed Musa is another addition to his Royal Air Force team at Leicester City.
The Italian bantered with the press about his front-line of Jamie Vardy and co – calling them the RAF due to their electrifying pace and work-rate as they completed the biggest shock in sporting history, by winning the English Premier League last season.
Now, after completing the signing of Nigeria captain Musa from CSKA Moscow for a club record £16.6 million, the former Chelsea boss claimed it was important to add another speedster into their squad.
“Musa can bring his speed,” the Italian told the club’s official website. “I don’t know if he’s as quick as Jamie Vardy, but he has lots of speed.
“It’s very important to have another airplane in our squad. Remember, we are the RAF and we’ve signed one of them!”
Musa scored 54 goals and registered 29 assists in 168 games for CSKA after joining them from Dutch side VVV-Venlo in January 2012 for a reported fee of €5million.
