FC Bayern München centre-back Holger Badstuber has revealed that he got a "very positive" first impression after his first training session with new head coach Carlo Ancelotti.
The defending Bundesliga champions reported for their first training session under the Italian tactician this week, and Badstuber likes what he has seen thus far.
"The first impression [with Ancelotti] is very positive. He tries to talk a lot with each player, so you get to know each other and build up a bond of trust," Badstuber told Goal.
"This is very important for the team, but also for the team behind the actual squad. If we all have a harmonic relation – which is very important for Ancelotti as well – then we can be very successful."
Ancelotti will be aiming to build on the groundwork laid down by Pep Guardiola, who steered the Bavarians to the league title and DFB-Pokal trophy in final season at the Allianz Arena.
When asked to highlight the differences between Guardiola and Ancelotti, Badstuber added: "I don't want to compare them.
"Ancelotti has his own philosophy regarding training and style of play.
"Anyway, Bayern have and had only excellent coaches and we are happy to be able working together with Ancelotti now.
"He is a very experienced coach who won a lot of titles to date."
