Chelsea have moved a step closer to bringing Augsburg defender Baba Rahman to Stamford Bridge after agreeing terms with the player.
The Blues are in the market for a new left-back after selling Filipe Luis back to Atletico Madrid after just one term, and 21-year-old Ghana international Rahman now looks set for a switch to west London.
"It is only the clubs that have to find an agreement," said Rahman's representative, Sascha Empacher, to Sport Bild. "We on our side are agreed."
The Blues have had a relatively quiet transfer window so far, with only Radamel Falcao arriving on loan from Monaco, while Nathan, Asmir Begovic, and Danilo Pantic have also signed but are not expected to feature in the first team.
Manager Jose Mourinho has turned his attention to defence, where he seems determined to add some youth to the backline, with Everton centre-back John Stones the only other player to be heavily linked with the Premier League champions.
