Swiss international goalkeeper Roman Burki has promised Borussia Dortmund he will try and persuade compatriot Xherdan Shaqiri to join him at Signal Iduna Park.
Burki, who recently joined the German giants from SC Freiburg for £2.4 million, expressed his delight at his new surroundings, while also stating that he hopes Shaqiri comes back to the Bundesliga after being deemed surplus to requirements at Internazionale.
After signing his four-year deal, Burki told Bild: "I will definitely write to him (Shaqiri).
"I have no idea if Xherdan is of interest to BVB but anyone who talks about BVB raves about 81,000 spectators at Signal Iduna Park. There are 25,000 fans alone on the south stand
"I can only say positives about my new team. They are all great people who really support newcomers."
