As the new English Premier league season approaches, Crystal Palace might have a surprise new face in the team, according to manager Alan Pardew.
The Eagles boss spoke at the Premier League's launch on Wednesday and hinted that a new signing is imminent, despite having already completed deals for Connor Wickham, Yohan Cabaye, Alex McCarthy and Patrick Bamford.
"I'd like to think we'd get one done today," Pardew told Sky Sports. "I know you've been pushing me on it but I'm not going to give you a name because I never do until they are completely done. If we can get him over the line he’s an exciting player as well. I'll be looking forward to seeing him."
"We've got a bit more business to do. We might have to bring one more in but we're pretty close. I'd run through the season with the group we've got now. We're a fuller group with strength in every position. We're well set."
With the international class of Cabaye and the potential of Bamford, Wickham and McCarthy as highly-rated English talent, Pardew's next move in the market could excite Palace fans and raise their beliefs of a strong upcoming campaign.
