We've all seen players milking fouls, penalties and cards out of referees by faking injury, but now a linesman has gotten in on the act.
In a match between between Huachipato and Palestino in the Chilean Primera División, there was a minor challenge involving Huachipato player Angelo Sagal.
Sagal then gently kicks the ball into linesman Carlos Echeverria’s thigh, sending the official down to the pitch like a ton of bricks.
Referee Claudio Puga promptly gave Sagal his marching orders, much to the midfielder's dismay.
After the match, chairman of the referee’s committee in Chile, Pablo Pozo, said the incident was being studied, so this linesman's oscar-winning performance could have consequences.
