Southampton goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg is looking forward to playing in the Europa League after the Saints progressed to the play-off round.
A 2-0 win over Vitesse, thanks goals from Graziano Pelle and Sadio Mane, gave the Saints a 5-0 win on aggregate that puts them through to the final round of qualifying.
"I think if you win the first game 3-0 and the second game 2-0 away the results are very good," the Netherlands international told the club's official website.
"I don't understand why some clubs then don't want to play in the Europa League after playing a whole season to get in Europe."
Southampton's next opponents will be determined by the pay-off draw in Nyon on Friday, but will already be preparing for their first match of the new Premier League season against Newcastle United at St James' Park on Sunday.
"It's always nice to play in Europe," Stekelenburg added. "The results are fantastic, so we're looking forward to the draw."
