Everton will travel to Barnsley in the second round of the Capital One Cup, while 2012/13 champions Swansea face York City of League Two.

Runners-up from two seasons ago, Sunderland, face a visit from Exeter, while Northampton will also head to the North East, where they will face Newcastle.

There are away fixtures for all the newly promoted teams, with Norwich set to visit Rotherham, Watford are at Preston and Bournemouth face a long trip to Hartlepool.

There are only 12 Premier League teams involved in the second round, with holders Chelsea, and the other seven teams involved in European competition – Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham, Liverpool, Southampton and West Ham – handed safe passage into the next round.

The second round ties will be played in the week beginning 24 August.
