Paul Pogba's celebrity agent, Mino Raiola, has come out in defence of the midfielder following criticism levelled at him by former England striker Gary Lineker.
Pogba has failed to reproduce the form and quality he exhibited for Juventus thus far in France's European Championship campaign, with Dimitri Payet grabbing the majority of the plaudits for Didier Deschamps' team.
While certain sections of the media have simply noted his lack of influence on Les Bleus' performances, BBC football coverage anchorman Lineker went as far as questioning the 23-year-old's overall ability.
"Is Pogba the world's most overrated player?" Lineker asked on his Twitter account.
This triggered a counter-attack from Raiola, who recently asked Juve not to deny Pogba a transfer request, and he had some choice words to say about Lineker.
"When someone is paid to talk about something, that doesn't mean he knows what he is talking about. Lineker is one of those," Raiola told RAI.
"When Gary Lineker talks about Pogba, he hasn't the slightest idea what he is talking about. I remember he said if Claudio Ranieri won the Premier League title with Leicester City, he would present his show in his underpants. That tells you everything.
"Considering the qualities Paul has and the prices I see around Europe, I think Paul is underrated. How much is he worth? The maximum amount a club is prepared to pay for him.
"Just look at a player who is on the bench of Belgium and Marseille [Michy Batshuayi], but is being sold for €40m [to Chelsea]."
