Bayer 04 Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller has quashed rumours that Karim Bellarabi is leaving for domestic rivals Borussia Dortmund.
It is been reported in the German media that the 26-year-old forward will be moving to Signal Iduna Park as a replacement for Manchester United-bound Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
On Monday DerWesten claimed that Bellarabi is keen on leaving Leverkusen to complete a 36 million Euro move to Dortmund, but Voller claims it’s all just speculation.
“Whoever says that Karim Bellarabi wants to leave Leverkusen talks nonsense. It is a lie,” Voller told Kicker.
“After all the talks we’ve held with Karim, I am totally convinced he wants to stay, and there is not the slightest doubt about it. Karim feels well here, and there is no desire to switch clubs.”
The Germany international impressed for Roger Schmidt’s side last season, scoring 12 goals and providing 14 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.
