Liverpool have reportedly rejected a loan bid for centre-back Mamadou Sakho from Italian Serie A side AS Roma, who are looking to replace Alessio Romagnoli.
The Giallorossi sold Romagnoli to AC Milan for £18 million this week and were keen on bringning in the French centre-back for the season.
Sakho was left out of Liverpool's squad against Stoke last weekend, sparking speculation that he could leave the club this transfer window.
However, the 25-year-old had missed three days of training in the week before the game due to the birth of his child and is expected to return to the fold ahead of Monday's clash against Bournemouth.
According to reports, Sakho is not one of the players Liverpool are looking to move on before the end of August.
Alberto Moreno and Lazar Markovic have also been subject to exit speculation, but Rodgers confirmed on Saturday that both players will be needed this season.
