Barcelona international sporting director Ariedo Braida revealed that Javier Mascherano will not be joining Juventus.
Speaking to Italy's national public broadcaster RAI, Braida confirmed that the Argentina international defender will not be joining the Serie A giants.
"It is certain that Javier will not play for Juventus next season. He'll stay with us."
This follows calls from former Barca teammate Dani Alves who revealed that he wants to be reunited with Mascherano at the Turin-based outfit.
"He [Mascherano] is one of the players who I value the most. I usually talk about football with him and it would be a great honour for me to share this adventure with him," the Brazilian told AS.
The 32-year-old was part of the Argentina squad, who lost in the Copa America final against Chile, and is likely to play his seventh consecutive season with the La Liga giants, where he will hope to add to his four La Liga titles and two Champions League medals.
