Aston Villa forward Gabriel Agbonlahor says that new signing Rudy Gestede reminds him of former teammate John Carew.
The Benin international recently signed from Blackburn Rovers and scored the match-winning goal on his debut against Bournemouth.
And the 26-year-old's presence upfront reminds Agbonlahor of the big Norwegian centre-forward, who hit 37 goals in 113 Premier League appearances for the Villans.
"Rudy reminds me of John Carew with his presence," Agbonlahor told his club's official website. "I don't think there are many defenders that are going to be able to jump with him. He's that good.
"He's probably the best I've seen and played with in terms of aerial presence. He's my dream sort of player to play with – a target man like him. I'm looking forward to playing more with him.
"There are going to be times where there are different players playing but he's a good asset to have. He's a nice guy off the pitch too. He's a very humble guy and he works hard so he ticks all of the boxes."
Villa followed up their opening-day win over the Cherries with a 1-0 loss to Manchester United on Friday, and face Crystal Palace away at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
