Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic admits Manchester City were 'tough to deal with' in their 3-0 win at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Sergio Aguero netted a first-half opener before Vincent Kompany and Fernandinho grabbed goals late on as the Citizens claimed a well-deserved victory over the champions and make an early season statement.
Jose Mourinho's side were lucky to go into the break trailing by just the solitary goal after City's blistering start and Begovic, who made a number of outstanding saves in the first 10 minutes, admits the Blues squad were blown away by the hosts' intensity early on.
“It was tough to deal with,” the Bosnia and Herzegovina is quoted as saying by Manchester Evening News. “We expected them to come out very aggressive, strong and press hard.
“It was their first home game so they wanted to prove a point and we were ready for it, but when they come at you like that it’s difficult to deal with.
“We grew into the game and tried to do our best, but the second goal killed us. City were very good."
