Spain goalkeeper David de Gea says his the critics only motivate him to become better after his performance in their final Group D clash with Croatia.
The Manchester United star was criticised for his lack of positioning after he was beaten at his near post by Ivan Perisic in the 87th minute at Matmut Atlantique in Bordeaux on Tuesday night.
The 2-1 defeat meant the defending champions end the first round of Euro 2016 as runners-up and will face Italy in the round of 16, in what will be a rematch of the European Championship final in 2012.
The 25-year-old took to Twitter to thank his critics on the back of his display and promised to keep fighting.
"The only ones who are defeated are those who lose hope," he said on the social media platform.
"Thanks to the critics, you motivate me. To keep fighting!"
