Mkhitaryan agent not giving up on United transfer

Mino Raiola believes it would be a sin if he didn’t at least try and negotiate a transfer for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Manchester United.

Last Friday Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke told ESPN that Mkhitaryan won’t be leaving in this transfer window.

However, despite on-going contract negotiations at the club, the attacking midfielder made it clear he wants to leave.

Watzke claimed they couldn’t afford to lose a player of his caliber ahead of next seasons after already losing key players such as Mats Hummels to FC Bayern München and Ilkay Gundogan to Manchester City.

The agent of the Armenia international, Raiola, spoke to BBC Football about the possibility of his client joining the English Premier League giants ahead of the new campaign, claiming he will try again despite Watzke’s comments.

“It would be a sin to stop talking,” he said. “I am a positive guy. If I wasn’t confident of reaching some kind of conclusion, I wouldn’t try.”

“I am very proud Manchester United want him and the talks are being held in a good atmosphere, but at the moment, Dortmund are still saying no.”

Mkhitaryan enjoyed an incredible season as runners-up of the Bundesliga scoring 23 goals and registering 32 assists in 52 games in all competitions.
